The first recorded pair of Eighteenth Century Tea Tongs marked for Thomas Bouton of Jersey was seen recently.




As is common on Jersey pairs of Tea Tongs, it bears the Jersey rose engraved on the hinge plate.

It was not unusual for Jersey goldsmiths to mark Tea Tongs in unusual places, as seen here.
